RWRG 38 - CCR 88 - it was an extremely hot and sweaty end to the season but a great game and amazing after party.
LBRG 78 - RWRG 149!
RWRG had their second win in 3 weeks in a tough but well fought and entertaining game against the Lincolnshire Bombers. With Loopy Lucy and Yorkshire Tripper both out, Faerie Knottie and Lottie2Hottie made their derby debut both taking lead jammer in their opening jams. Co-Captain Cozza Commotion came back fighting from her recent shoulder injury earning the Best Blocker award from LBRG. RWRG's top points scorer No DiscipLyn was awarded Best Jammer and MVP went to Rock n Roll Ruby.
RWRG 228 - RTRB 33!
A tough game despite the impressive scoreline; a real crowd-pleaser! Red Arrow made her derby debut. Cozza Commotion made an early exit after a shoulder injury, followed by Yorkshire Tripper with a back injury at the start of the 2nd period. The Most Valuable Player Award went to No DiscipLyn who notched up an amazing 120 points!
RWRG Hit the Streets!
On Saturday 10th April RWRG took Roller Derby to the streets of Slough, with a demo game outside the Empire Cinema to coincide with the release of Whip it. It was hot, the crowd were great (yes we do hope to do it again soon - watch this space). We had a brilliant time, thanks to the Observatory and Queensmere shopping centres for allowing us to do this. www.whipitthemovie.co.uk
THANK YOU!
We'd like to say a huge thank you to our main training venue Charters School in Ascot for allowing us a permanent derby track in their sports hall. The track in a fitting royal blue is a huge help to our training making the skaters and refs job a whole lot easier - thanks!
